The main topics of the vgbe energy conference "Maintenance of Wind Power Plants" will deal with the reduction of installation and operating costs of wind power plants. Rotor blades are among the most highly stressed components of the wind turbine. Depending on the intensity of the load and the procedures and quality of the manufacturing process, sooner or later signs of wear start to appear. The demand for bigger wind turbines, powered by longer blades, has placed many challenges on the blade design. It has become clear, that the number of damages at rotor blades has been increased. Different concepts will be presented to optimise blade maintenance and to reduce repair costs.
